Privacy policy.

Absyt takes the protection of your privacy seriously. This policy explains which data is, and is not, processed when you visit absyt.com or use the apps SixKit, SmartClipr and Squadd. In short: no personal data is collected for tracking purposes.

Data controller

The absyt.com website

absyt.com is a showcase site. It uses no tracking cookies, no analytics tool (such as Google Analytics) and no advertising tracker. No account is required and there is no collection form: the only way to send us information is to write to us by email, of your own accord.

Like any web server, the host may keep technical logs (IP address, date and time of connection) for security and reliability. Those logs are managed by the host and are not used by Absyt for commercial purposes.

The SixKit app

SixKit is a macOS app that runs entirely locally, inside Apple's sandbox. Your content (notes, tasks, files, text captures, QR codes) stays on your Mac and is never sent to Absyt or to any third party. The app contains no networking code at all: it is technically unable to make a request.

No account is needed to use SixKit.
A short installation identifier, something like CXQ73808, is drawn at random on your Mac and stays there. It is shown in the settings so you can quote it when you report a problem. It is never transmitted automatically, and it says nothing about you or your hardware.
No personal data is collected or sent to our servers.
No tracking for advertising or behavioural purposes takes place.
SixKit generates an anonymous installation identifier (“InstanceID”), stored locally. It is a random UUID, unconnected to you or to your hardware. It is shown in the “About” panel so you can quote it when reporting a bug; it is never transmitted automatically.
Encryption at rest. Your notes, your tasks and your capture history are encrypted on disk (AES-GCM). The key is generated on your Mac and kept in your keychain, accessible to this app alone.
Calque keeps the recognised text of the last 30 captures. The captured images themselves are never written to disk: they are analysed in memory, then destroyed.
QR Code keeps the last 10 generated codes.
La Boite neither copies nor moves your files. The app keeps only a secure reference so you can pull them back out; emptying La Boite deletes the references, never the files.
Presentation copies into its own folder the background image you import, if you choose one.
Erase everything. The app menu lets you clear the Calque history, the notes, the tasks and La Boite, separately or all at once.

System permission. SixKit asks for a single permission: screen recording, which Calque needs in order to read the area you select. The app does not request Accessibility, microphone, camera, contacts, calendar, photos or location access. You can refuse or revoke it at any time from System Settings › Privacy & Security: only Calque then stops working, the other five tools are untouched.

The SmartClipr app

SmartClipr is a macOS app that runs entirely on your Mac, inside Apple's sandbox. It contains no network code: no account, no analytics, no server. Your copies and your screenshots never leave your Mac, and you can check that with any firewall.

No account is required, and no data is sent to Absyt or to any third party.
The clipboard history and the thumbnails of your screenshots are stored in the app's own private space, on your Mac.
Confidential copies flagged as such by macOS, notably those from password managers, are never recorded.
Excluded apps: you name the apps from which no copy may be recorded. That protection is in the free version.
The text of your screenshots is recognised on your Mac, by Apple's own engine, offline. No image is ever sent anywhere.
The screenshot folder you name is only ever read. SmartClipr writes nothing into it and never changes the macOS setting that decides where screenshots land.
Erase everything. One button in the settings empties the whole history, immediately. Uninstalling the app takes its data with it.

System permissions. SmartClipr asks for none. Access to your screenshot folder is granted by you, folder by folder, through Apple's own file picker. The app requests neither Accessibility nor screen recording, nor the microphone, camera, contacts, calendar, photos or location.

The Squadd app

Unlike our macOS apps, Squadd needs an account: the game is played together and in real time, so scores have to be shared between the phones of the players in a lobby. This section spells out exactly what that means.

What we keep: your email address, your nickname, your profile picture if you choose one, the content of your games (points, events, dares, votes), your language and theme, and a technical token for notifications. Your password is never stored in plain text: it is handled by our host’s authentication service, which only keeps an encrypted fingerprint. We have no access to it.

No advertising, no trackers, no partners. Your data is never sold, rented or passed on to anyone.
Hosted in Europe. Data sits on Supabase, in a European region. Access to every row is locked at database level: you can only read the lobbies you belong to.
What other players see: your nickname, your picture, your score and your history in that lobby. Your email address is never visible to others, on any screen.
Photo proofs in Pro lobbies are kept in a private space. They are not reachable through any public address: the app requests a temporary link, valid for one hour, restricted to members of the lobby.
Notifications are only about the game: points received, event launched, game over. Never promotional. They go through Expo’s service, then Apple (iPhone) or Google (Android), which deliver them to your phone. You can refuse them or switch them off in the app, which stays fully usable.
Sign in with Apple or Google. If you choose this option, we only receive your email address (or Apple’s relay address if you hide it), your first name and a technical identifier. We have no access to anything else in your Apple or Google account.
Service emails. Verification codes and password resets are sent from our business mailbox, hosted by OVH in France. No newsletter, no marketing email.
Reporting content. Any player can report an image, a dare or a text from the lobby settings. Absyt then reviews only the reported content, within 24 hours, and removes it if it breaks the terms of use. The report (content concerned, reporter, reported player) is kept for 12 months; the reported player is not told who made it.
Export your data. A button in the settings hands you a file with everything Squadd knows about you.
Delete your account. From the app, in seconds: profile, picture, points and lobbies you own are erased for good. No copy is kept.

Minimum age: 17. Dares and scoring are written freely by the players themselves: Absyt neither writes nor reads them, except when they are reported. The app is rated 17+ and not recommended for minors.

Purchases, App Store and Google Play

SixKit, SmartClipr and Squadd are distributed through the Apple App Store. The purchase is handled directly by Apple, which acts as the seller and processes the payment. Absyt receives neither your bank details nor your payment data, and has access to no information about your Apple Account. The handling of that information falls under Apple's privacy policy. SmartClipr additionally offers an in-app purchase, the Pro version, handled by Apple in the same way: Absyt receives no payment data from it.

On Android, Squadd is distributed through Google Play, and the Pro subscription is charged by Google on the same principle: Absyt receives no payment data, only the subscription status. This information is handled under Google’s privacy policy.

Purposes and legal basis

As no personal data is actively collected, no processing takes place for commercial, statistical or advertising purposes. The only data that may be processed (emails you send us, the host's technical logs) is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering your requests and keeping the service secure.

For Squadd, account and game data are processed to provide the service you use (performance of a contract, i.e. the terms of use). Reports are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting players, and of the rules Apple and Google impose on apps of this kind.

Retention period

Squadd account: 18 months of inactivity. An account with no sign-in for eighteen months is deleted automatically, together with all of its data. An active subscription suspends that deadline. You can of course delete your account earlier, at any time, from the app. Departure reasons left behind are kept for 24 months, with no identifier that could tie them to anyone. The emails you send us are kept for as long as it takes to handle your request, then archived or deleted. The host's technical logs are kept in line with its own retention periods.

Squadd reports: 12 months. A report is kept for one year so that repeat offences can be handled, then deleted automatically.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French “Informatique et Libertés” act, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability regarding your data.

To exercise these rights, write to us at contact@absyt.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr).
