A question, a bug, a suggestion: write to contact@absyt.com. A person reads that mailbox, not a robot: expect a reply within a few working days.

02

Calque captures nothing

By far the most common question, and it is almost always the same cause: macOS requires the Screen Recording permission, and above all a restart of the app once you have granted it.

Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen Recording.
Turn SixKit on in the list.
Quit SixKit completely then launch it again. Without that restart, macOS keeps refusing the capture: this is the step everyone forgets.
Press ⇧⌘T: the pointer should turn into a crosshair.

If the pointer does not change, the shortcut is being intercepted by another app: see the next section.

03

A shortcut does not respond

Global shortcuts are shared across the whole system: if another app has already reserved the same combination, SixKit cannot claim it. The app detects this and reports it in its settings.

⇧⌘B · La Boite
⇧⌘T · Calque
⇧⌘P · Presentation
⇧⌘L · To-Do

Notes and QR Code have no global shortcut: they open from the tiles in the menu. Each shortcut can be disabled individually in SixKit's settings.

04

The icon has vanished from the menu bar

SixKit is an “agent” app: it deliberately has no Dock icon and no main window. It lives only in the menu bar, on the right.

If the icon is missing, the bar is probably full: macOS then hides the right-most items, especially on Macs with a notch. Reduce the number of icons, or temporarily remove another app to check.

05

My files have disappeared from La Boite

They are not lost. La Boite never copies or moves your files: it keeps a reference to their original location. If you moved, renamed or deleted a file in the Finder after dropping it into La Boite, that reference no longer points to anything.

So your originals are still wherever the Finder left them.

06

Erasing my data

The SixKit menu lets you clear the Calque history, the notes, the tasks and La Boite separately, or all at once. The operation is immediate and irreversible.

For a complete removal, uninstall the app and then delete the folder ~/Library/Containers/com.absyt.sixkit/. Your notes, tasks and capture history are stored there, encrypted; nothing exists anywhere else, and nothing has ever been sent online.

07

Report a bug

For a report to be usable, three pieces of information are enough:

Your installation ID · shown in SixKit's “About” panel, with a button to copy it. It is an anonymous identifier; it says nothing about you.
The SixKit version · also in “About”.
Your macOS version · Apple menu › About This Mac.

Add what you were doing when the problem happened, and a screenshot if it is visible.

08

Compatibility

SixKit requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. The app is universal: it runs natively on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and later) as well as on Intel Macs.

09

Privacy

SixKit contains no networking code at all: nothing leaves your Mac, ever. The details are in our privacy policy.
