Write to us

A question, a bug, a suggestion: write to contact@absyt.com. It is an address read by a person, not a robot: expect an answer within a few working days.

02

The panel does not open

The panel waits against an edge of the screen, and the cursor has to reach it properly, all the way.

Check in the settings which edge and which height are selected: the drawing of the screen shows you.
On a Mac with several displays, the panel sits on the main display, the one carrying the menu bar.
If the app is no longer running, the strip no longer exists: launch SmartClipr again from Launchpad or the Applications folder.
If the opening delay is set to Never, the edge no longer triggers anything: open the panel from the menu bar icon, or lower that delay in the settings.
03

Screenshots do not appear

SmartClipr only watches the folder you pointed it at, and it does not guess it on its own.

Open the panel settings, Screenshots section, and click Change to name the folder where macOS drops your screenshots. By default that is the Desktop.
Only genuine screenshots are picked up: other images in the folder are ignored, so your Desktop will not be swallowed.
A screenshot taken before the folder was named is not picked up. Later ones are.
04

A copy was not recorded

Three possible reasons, in this order.

The app the copy came from may be on your exclusion list: by design, nothing from it is recorded.
macOS marks some copies as confidential, notably those from password managers. Those are never recorded, and that is not adjustable.
In the free version, pasted images and copied files are not kept. Text always is.
05

Restore a Pro purchase

A Pro purchase is attached to your Apple Account, not to your Mac. On a new machine, or after a reinstall, open the panel settings and use Restore purchases. You need to be signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with.

06

Erase my history

In the settings, under History retention, the Clear history button empties everything immediately. Nothing is kept elsewhere, there is no copy to reclaim: uninstalling the app takes its data with it.

07

Report a bug

Write to contact@absyt.com. These three lines save days:

Your macOS version and your Mac model.
The SmartClipr version number, shown to the right of the name at the top of the panel.
What you were doing, and what you expected instead.
08
